The Way We Worship
Our worship styles are distinctive for each of our services, yet all of our services are dignified and beautiful to both the eyes and the ears, but they are also warm and inviting. If you are unfamiliar with Episcopal services, they are liturgical (meaning we have a written service that we follow), they are scriptural (Bible readings are included in all services), and they are participatory (the congregation reads, responds, and prays throughout the service). The Book of Common Prayer (BCP), 1979, is the basis of all of our worship. On Wednesday we offer a healing service with Holy Communion (Eucharist) in our chapel. On Sundays we offer several different styles of worship. Rite 2 indicates contemporary language.
All baptized Christians are invited to participate and receive Holy Communion (Eucharist). If you do not desire to receive Communion, you are welcome and encouraged to come to the altar to simply receive a blessing from the clergy.
The Nursery opens 15 minutes prior to services and remains open until 15 minutes following services. Our Nursery is for infants through 4 years and includes baby sitting as well as storytelling and snacks. The Nursery is located at the southeast end of the Christian Education wing.
Sunday Services (During the School Year)
Sunday Services (Summer Season)
8:00 a.m. – Said Service / Rite 2
This service is ideal for those who enjoy an early service that is both quiet and reverent (there is no music at this service).
10:00 a.m. – Choral Service / Rite 2
The 10:00 service is a favorite of many longtime Episcopalians featuring hymnody and special music led by St Anne’s Choir with organ. Both traditional hymnody as well as contemporary favorites are sung.
10:00 a.m. – Contemporary Music Mass / Rite 2
Enjoyed on the LAST Sunday of the month, this service takes the place of the traditional Choral Service. The music is easy to both sing and understand while reinforcing the message of worship.
